How to submit your Abstract

Please read the requirements outlined on this page before submitting your abstract.

Once you have read the requirements, click below and log in or create an Indico account. Next, simply fill in the required sections of the form and upload an abstract based on the template provided. Be sure to indicate which conference topic your abstract relates to, and the contribution type.

 


The ICUIL 2026 programme committee is calling for abstracts for talks and posters on the conference topics. The deadline for abstracts is 30 May.

Contribution types

Keynote addresses

These will be arranged by invitation and timings will be agreed with the speakers.

Talks

Invited talks will be 30 minutes long including time for questions.

Oral presentations will be 20 minutes long including time for questions.

Poster sessions

Two poster sessions will be available at ICUIL 2026, designed to provide an opportunity for selected papers to be presented in greater visual detail. Authors must remain in the vicinity of their bulletin boards for the duration of the session (60–90 minutes) to answer questions. Note that poster presenters are not supplied with any audiovisual equipment.

  • Multi-petawatt facilities and beyond
  • New enabling laser technologies, metrology and diagnostics
  • Novel laser-based particle and radiation sources
  • Combined sources (high power lasers with other drivers)
  • Application of secondary sources
  • Application of AI and Machine Learning in optimisation of lasers and
    secondary sources
  • Advancements and laser development for fusion
  • High harmonics, attosecond generation and few cycle lasers
  • High field science
  • Innovative optics, beam shaping, pulse engineering

 


Requirements

70-word summary: Please provide a brief summary of your paper topic in the Indico submission. If your paper is accepted, this summary will be included in the Conference Programme. Note that this summary should also be included in the abstract as indicated in the template.

Abstract: All contributing authors are required to submit an abstract of their work for publication in the Technical Digest. The abstract must not exceed 400 words. All submissions MUST contain the following items in order to be published:

  1. Complete title
  2. Complete listing of all authors and their affiliations
  3. Short summary, limited to 70 words
  4. Permission and attribution for any trademarked or copyright images. Note that images of people or images owned or trademarked by other entities (including, for example, well-known logos or cartoon characters) will also require official written permission.
  5. Appropriate copyright statement following the abstract. By default, the copyright statement will appear as © 2026 The Author(s).

Please proofread carefully – accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.

Contribution type (preference): The contribution type options are ‘Keynote address,’ ‘Invited talk,’ ‘Oral presentation’ and ‘Poster.’ While the committee will have the final say on contribution types, every effort is made to honour an author’s choices.

Science topics: Please review the topic categories and select the area that is appropriate for your work. If more than one topic applies or you select ‘Other’ please include details in the ‘Comments’ section of the submission page.

Failure to complete any of the preceding requirements may result in the rejection of a paper. NO CHANGES OR REVISIONS WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE.

A complete submission must be completed via the Indico site in adherence with the style guide and by the deadline. Do NOT email, fax or mail your abstracts.

Registration and submission for Technical Sessions is open to all members of the scientific and technical community. It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain appropriate approval to present their work to this international forum.

 


Review process

Peer-review of submissions will be carried out by members of the Technical Programme Committee.

Notification emails will be sent to the submitting authors (named during abstract submission) by 26 June 2026.
